Prevent feet blisters ;)))

hey ;)

Today was an absolutely nua day, and I went to Vivo in the morning to walk for a while. I was supposed to go for a job but I kinda realised it was too far for me so I decided not to and I felt really bad:( But the thing is I won't be able to commit!! So I don't think it's good either way :(

But anyway, since I was supposed to be going to work and my only black pair of shoes was heels, I wore them. And my feet nearly died. It was still a relatively new pair, which I wore for my interview once only LOL. So vvvvvv likely there'll be blisters. (and actually my feet were dying cause I'm so not used to heels)

And since alot of people have been asking me about the weird weird thing that I applied to my feet when wearing new shoes which prevents blisters, I guess I'll just tell you guys about it!!

This was introduced to me by Pris which I initially felt vvvvv questionable. What kind of thing isit sia. How can it be possible!?? ->I legit thought like this LOL.

ok la it is this blue thing here!!!!

Body Glide~$17+

Basically inside should be kinda like wax, to reduce friction between your feet and shoes so it prevents blisters/cuts from forming. I've been using this for a while now and it's SUPER USEFUL. Like all my new sneakers/vans kept biting into my feet like there's no tomorrow so I had to keep spamming this LOL. Good thing is I didn't even get any blisters!!

This stick is actually more for prevention, DO NOT use it when you have blisters already cause there's really no point anymore haha. Usually I apply to the back of my feet since it's the only place which has 1 million and 1 blisters -.-

There's 2 colours to choose from (container only LOL inside is the same thing) -- Purple and Blue. Purple is like only 'foot glide' and blue is 'body glide', similar to pure body wash and 2-in-1 shampoo and body wash. (analogy HAHAHHA) But I got the blue one cause I prefer the colour, and both's of the same price anyway!

There's also the hello kitty one, which is a smaller stick that is apple scented. It's also cheaper so if you don't use as much you can definitely get it!! I got the larger stick since my mom would definitely need to use it HAHAH.

OK la, IMO it's a really good invention, and a super good investment if you are prone to feet blisters which sucks big time :'( And not alot of people know about this magical thing which is really really weird!!! Cause it's so so so so so useful I really kenot live without it HAHAHAHAH.

But one stick will take a while to finish so don't have to keep buying yay!!! x)))

It can be found in Watsons and Guardian, at the feet section!!! (like scholl kinds of stuff) So I defo recommend it!! ;))

Hope you enjoyed reading and have a nice day!!! :))))

was being retarded cos I actually put makeup (prepared for work) but in the end I didn't even go work LOL

Reliving volleyball memories // Passion // Grateful :)

hey ;)

Well, I've FINALLY played volleyball with BBB during one of our juniors' trainings on Saturday (ISH!!!). And still v saddening to hear that ISH can only be used by volleyball on Saturdays, and only during seasons. Really, volleyball is an indoor sport and I definitely feel that playing in the ISH would improve the team's skills ALOT MORE. But school has their weird priorities which is just bullshit sometimes.

missing nhu :'(

ANYWAY, I really really realllllly miss volleyball, I just realised. I missed spiking and receiving and diving and blocking and basically EVERYTHING. :( Which made me really really happy when we played 5h straight. Like I didn't even want to rest!!! Just keep peppering on and on and on :) And I feel that BBB improved alot idek why LOL their receiving improved!! Proud of them hehe.

And our juniors also improved alot, at least most of them can serve over the net now, which is really great. Though their skills won't be enough to win the top 4, but I'm very very sure that as long as they try their best, they would do well in the tournament :)

Since we are J3s (still really weird being called J3s), the J4s and J5s came back to play and they were really good. Didn't get to play with them which was a real shame though, since we had to play with our juniors but ohwell!! There's still chance.

Personally, I really don't know what is 'passion'. Like how do you even know if you have it? I'm the kind of person who gets bored of stuff easily, so it's really hard for me to follow through something, but for volleyball it's just different. I've been playing this since Sec 1, and there were times which I really wanted to quit/stop playing, but I still stayed. And after not playing for so long, I actually miss volleyball :(

Is this passion? I really think that volleyball has brought me far, and brought be loads of joy and sadness and anger and disappointment, but the best thing was I met loads of lovely people through this. Like in Anderson, beach volleyballers, opens, BBB, Raffles, everywhere. It's a real blessing to be able to meet all of them and I'm still so so grateful <3

And Poh Poh brought me into volleyball in Sec 1 (actually I kinda forced myself in but it's another story HAHA) and under him, I really felt like I grew alot and my world changed. I realised I didn't have to please everyone I met, learnt to have my own opinion but still accepting others, learnt to be fierce but kind, be disciplined, and so on.

Really, it's the best thing that happened to me :')

So I guess this is what led to my passion for volleyball?? It's still so abstract but I just know I love volleyball, and it's irreplaceable. And hi guys if you are reading this I love you all kay <3 No matter if we quarrel or not, or hate each other or not, we are all still going strong!!! x)))

OHOH I totally recommend playing volleyball TEHEE!!! It's a vvvvvv fun sport!!!

I guess everyone has their own passion and glad I've found mine :) Maybe (actually) I have alot more but volleyball plays a HUGEEEE role I guess LOL.

Have a nice day <3

Visiting the Parliament House #rememberinglky

hey :(

So today is Black Sunday, the official day for the mourning of our late founding father, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. There was this request going around so there were alot of people who wore black/white!! And the staff at Tampines Giant were wearing black too!! This country spirit for someone widely respected is really really heartening and clearly we can all be as one even in bad times!!! :))) I'm quite sure he'll be SUPER PROUD.

I didn't go to the State Funeral Procession since I went out and didn't even get to watch it live, so I'm still quite sad but I hope they will play it again!!! But this time I'll be talking about queueing for the Parliament House to visit Mr LKY.

City Hall MRT

Me and Cally and her friends met at 9.30pm at City Hall on Friday night and started queueing outside the MRT station. We were all prepared to queue for VVVVVV LONG. There was a really really huge crowd and loads of signs and someone on the loudhailer so we definitely WON'T get lost!! We were led to the field outside the Parliament house where there is a snaking queue, with shelters and there were many people sitting down/camping there alr since the queue was really long LOL. And since it's the 3rd day, there were food distributed to people queueing, including bread, sweet potatoes, biscuits, apples, bananas, etc, and water and drinks! Well, people there are clearly spoilt for choices which makes it sound just not suitable for the occasion, but seriously, it's the truth.

Really grateful for those who donated/volunteered to help provide food cause it's really tiring to camp the whole night in stuffy conditions :( But #forlky!!!

Night View

HAHA the thing is we didn't dare to drink water cause we didn't wanna go to the toilet but we went halfway while queueing; guess the toilets were in RELATIVELY good condition for sich a huge event, just that it was clogged -.- (naturally)

Anyway, we got into the snaking queue at around 1030pm, and then, the queue starts. We were allowed to sit down at around 12plus (I think) since I guess we had to wait for REALLY REALLY long and they actually stopped the queue alr, so people who could not get in the queue waited for the queue somewhere else, and they could only stand, which is really taxing on many :( Most of them went home though an the queue resumed at around 6.15am.

We gossiped and chatted to let time pass quickly and my phone's connection was REALLY REALLY BAD :( I couldn't even get any signal/3g and it was really quite annoying -.- but wtv, at least I can save my battery LOL. There were MPs who came by to greet Singaporeans queueing, which I feel is a really great gesture, even in the middle of the night! And there was even random parts of the crowd singing 'Home' (I really don't know how it started since we couldn't see anything) and there was also a choir (I think) too!!

But IMO time passed relatively fast by hours LOL. Every hour we were like "oh it's been an hour" or "oh it's been 3h" HAHAHA.

People got to sleep on the grass and me too so I felt more energised after a 15min nap.

6 hours later (~3.30am)

And though everyone was patient and all the graciousness of Singaporeans were shown, there were some really annoying people like this pink haired auntie who kept kpkb and complaining. The gist of it was:

"Wa eh the people at the back keep coming forward then we feel very stuffy leh and we waited for so long but we still haven't even moved yet walau so inefficient"

ok I don't know the exact words la but it's something like complaining abt why we haven't moved when the other batches are moving. (The order is that people goes in batches) And the thing is I was sleeping and her annoying voice kinda woke me up so I got really really annoyed, LIKE SERIOUSLY, IF YOU'RE HERE YOU JOLLY WELL BE PREPARED TO QUEUE STOP KPKB-ING SO MUCH YOU DON'T WANT TO QUEUE JUST GO HOME.

Somemore someone said "WA IF NO ONE COMPLAIN THEN ALL THESE PEOPLE ALL SIT HERE WAITING LIKE DUMB PEOPLE LIDDAT" -.-

And the officer can't say that obv later he get fired HAHA so he was patiently trying to explain to her (and some random people who came in to add oil to fire) about how the system goes and that even if we move to another location we still have to wait so why not let everyone wait here since it's more comfortable and many people are 'settling down' alr.

Well and the officer said we have to wait at the Padang for another 3-4hours, and following that when we are moved to the Float at Marina Bay we still have to wait for another 3-4hours. Really, I might as well just wait at the Padang. Since it's night time and sleeping there won't be weird LOL.

~4.30am

MBS

FINALLY we got to leave the padang, and head towards the float. But the journey there was long since we had to take a really long detour, then do a snake queue at the Float (at least it was a moving queue :))) ) then walk one big round before exiting the Float HAHHAH. OK la quite orderly!!! Then families with kids and the elderly were asked to move to the express lane :))) At least they got to go there!!

The express lane was supposed to be for elderly above 60 years old and families with kids under 6yo, so I guess these were families with kids >6yo LOL

Then we continued walking and the night scenery was REALLY CHIO!!!

At this point I was so so so tired that I was falling asleep while walking and like my eyes kept closing and I just totally felt like sleeping there immediately LOL. But no, I will persevere!!! :)))

~6.30am

QUEUEEE

the officer!!!
There was this officer who stopped us and said:

"You all have reached the final lap!! Thank you for queueing for so long!! I know all of you are tired but this is the last 20min alr you all are going to reach the Parliament House soon!!!"

WOW I WAS SO HAPPY WHEN I HEARD THAT!!! 20min sounds alot, but if you compare 20min with 10h, it makes ME HAPPY. And we even thought we had to wait till 9am before going in so I was a really really happy girl hehe <3

After this tunnel we will reach!!

our shag faces vvvvvv shag sorry
Finally reached the Security Clearance and we had to get our bags checked for security purposes.

After getting in

Ok, so it was already morning when we got in, and it's all bright and we had to take a mandatory selfie after waiting 10h!!! Alot of people were there taking photos, ok not suitable for the occasion again IMO but seriously, we queued for REALLY DAMN LONG. I think this kinda justifies it la :)))

Inside, it was really fast. No photography (RESPECT PLS) ya, but we all had to move quickly, so just bow and leave :( There were 5 officers around the coffin and I could tell they were really really tired they can't even leave/take a break!!! :((( I salute them!! And I even heard one of them cried and someone came to help him wipe his tears. And since I was really really tired, I didn't have any emotions inside, just gratefulness, but the thing is after I really thought about it, I was really really sad about everything :(

I respect him alot and going to miss seeing his face on tv/national day parades!!

#RIPLKY Thanks for everything you've done for Singapore (and during this period) hope you finally have a proper rest :)

Luv, Olliee

Last minute interview clothes // SMU interview

hey ;)

Alot of things happened today, and I got to meet my friends, so I'm in a really happy mood right now. Plus honey nut flavoured granola from Sweet Home Farm for dinner (cause unemployment leads to being broke) made my day <3

Basically, as someone who almost NEVER wear formal--any formal stuff I'll just shun etc. so all my clothes are really casual and totally not suitable for interviews, especially university interviews. And since getting formal clothes is a good investment cause university confirm need, the search for formal clothes begin. OK after I got the call from SMU for my interview, I had 4 days to search for formal clothes. Sounds alot right? But procrastinator like me (and picky and super last minute kind of person) makes it even harder to find clothes. Sian I should really stop being so so so last minute but so glad to have supportive baes like BBB to help me in times of crisis and need <3

Suggestion from Es was white buttoned up top and black skirt (vvv standard but I don't care anymore) (desperate times call for desperate measures)

Most of the shops I tried scavenging (LOL) for formal interview clothes would be Pull and Bear, Bershka (all casual), G2000, Zara, Mango, F21 and Topshop. Clearly, these shops are just too ex and I can not afford them in such a short time. Saviour Qi (AHAHAHAH) came and suggested Uniqlo, which really had suitable clothes and skirts for interviews!!! And she was so so familiar with all the material she should totally get best employee award manz. Like I wanted to get this Extra Fine Cotton (EFC) shirt for $29.90 (partly since it's affordable) but got the Supima Cotton Stretch Long Sleeve shirt instead suggested by Qi. HAHAH Ok la actually I preferred the Supima one better and she said the material was more formal than EFC so I just got it!! (for $49.90)

Plus there was a discount so LUV <3

ANYWAY, no shoes too since I only had my prom shoes (sianz) which was actually ok but anyway I needed to invest in another pair of black heels for presentations in uni so might as well just get it right??? Got shoes from DMK which was quite affordable IMO (dk about quality I hope it's good) and they also have my shoe size (MOST IMPT THING HAHA) and it was quite nice so I just got it for $29.90!!

by Stylist/Photographer Qi HAHAHAH
But anyway total I spent around $86? Quite expensive but for formal clothes where can you find the whole set for $86??? And defo gonna rewear everything for all presentations and interviews and formal stuff so still good!!! x)

Did light makeup to seem professional but didn't really have a nice photo so here's my snap HAHAHAH (actually idek if it's considered light) cause it's my first time doing makeup for something so formal so very stressful I even set aside 1h to do such simple stuff omg but quite fun actually just that it got smudged I think. The thing is interviewers won't be very close to you so they won't really notice and you can get away with it LOL.

actually kenot rly see but can see abit diff i guess
HAHA truth is I just searched on Youtube for light makeup and watched clothesencounter's video!! Here's the link HAHA if you wanna watch! But I didn't have alot of stuff so I basically just dug out my mom's makeup stuff LOL. And skipped a few of what she applied since I didn't have anything. Aiya I guess as long as you seem decent can alr LOL.

Anyway for SMU interview, I was quite nervous (a teeny weeny bit) but I'm not the kind to feel nervous unless it's 5min before the actual thing so I was mostly ok and psyco-ing myself that I wanna get into SMU's Information Systems so that I would be able to do well for the interview. AIYA but like I really suck at interviews so not surprising I fail it :x And I don't really have the motivation to study in SMU and my mom don't really want me to study in SMU so ohwellz!! HAHAHA

For the IS interview, mine was a group interview, with 2 other students with me. And I was a little late cause I couldn't find the entrance to the lift and I was so lost HAHA. I didn't know there was a visitor entrance sianz. But at least Aud and Qi were there to support me and walk with me to SMU so yay luv you guys!!! <3 And luv everyone who gave me moral support!!! <3

We were brought to the Waiting Room first and had to do a mini questionnaire about ourselves, then ans this analytical/reasoning/estimate question where they had an example so it was quite doable just that it is likely to be asked in the interview so you have to know what you wrote. And general knowledge was needed AHHAHA. I kinda forgot what was Singapore's population and just whacked 5m which was close la but so heng!!! Cause being from Raffles=if you dk such stuff cfm kena looked now one -.- My General Knowledge damn lousy sia!!!

The interview lasted for around 30min (sounds v long but trust me, for a group interview it's not), and basically we were asked what the question requires of us and the profs were explaining to us more about the course and their students and what they have to offer etcetc. The 2 other interviewees are really really interested in SMU IS and I'm just still feeling confused about my life :( Really hope they can get in!! ;)) Cause they were really good during the interview--1 was kickstarting some business the other went through programming and I'm the only one being "err actually I wanna help NGOs more" HAHHHAHA ded.

But ya the profs were really friendly and I didn't feel intimidated so it's good I guess? And main point is to be yourself, cause if you lie, they confirm can see through it unless you are some professional liar haha.

Anyway, the 2 other interviewees were dressed quite formal too so ya just wear formal for interview ok you'll never go wrong with it!!!

But for makeup I'm not sure though cause the other lady didn't put make up HAHA but aiya I feel more prepared and formal with makeup so just do what you're comfortable with!! ;))

Well that interview was an experience so anyone reading this if you are going for any university interview soon good luck ok!!! Just do your best and relax :) And if you're waiting for calls from universities don't be too stressed out I'm sure you can do it!!! (Because it's really an experience you might not get again LOL)

Hope yall have a nice day :)

Luv, Olliee

1st part of The Southern Ridges // Sushi Tei // Childhood memories

hey ;)

Today was really really entertaining. I'll be sharing my experience on the first part of The Southern Ridges (you'll know why later HAHA) which is really really quite interesting ;)

Woke up early to meet Yv at Harbourfront MRT so that we can go Mount Faber on a hike, and the road to Mt Faber was TOUGH.

SO GONNA CONQUER THE DAY

Actually I was kidding myself cause I was so sleepy my eyebags were quite bad (it's always bad but exceptionally bad today) but I am ready to be fit! So basically we climbed up the trail to the Cable Car entrance: Faber Peak, and the scenery was B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L. I won't spam this post with ALL my photos but I'll just show a few kay ;))

irdk what is this it looked like it's half built but actually it's done

Continued on at Faber Walk which was just mostly uphill and basically TIRING and my stamina is just so bad ._. And we were quite slow HAHAHA.

But after Faber Walk, IT'S HENDERSON WAVES BRIDGEEEEE!!!!

The Instagram worthy place; The couple's hideout; the step photos place; basically the everything place la. But I was actually abit disappointed at what the Bridge looked like in a whole. Like it's actually quite cool it's midair and connecting 2 trails, but from the outside it looks ugly HAHA. Ok my definition of pretty bridge is either newly constructed or very very very old--those wooden kind LOL. Aiya but here's a photo to show you how it actually looks!!!

cannot really see though

HAHA since it was a weekday late morning, there weren't many visitors there and it was virturally empty teehee!! But the inside of the Bridge is really chio no kidding. SO rustic!! No wonder it's a place for couples and couples-to-be ;) ;) ahemahem HAHAHAHAHA. (if you know what I mean) There were also newlyweds taking photos for their wedding album AHHHHHH SO SO SO CUTE HAHAHAHA <3 Happy Marriage!!!!

Anyway, we stayed there for quite a while to rest and take photos without getting judged ;) Actually we were probably judged by the few people walking past but who cares!!! x) The sun wasn't really hot from 10am-1pm and it was really cloudy (not the rainy cloudy) so I didn't get the tan I expected but it feels really comfortable :>

Then we continued on into Hilltop Walk which is a very very very crucial place cause we got lost and went back to the starting point HAHAHAHA So basically we walked a round :( And we didn't know there were more trails until we turned back across the Bridge and looked at the map :( But it was late and we were hungry and tired so we just went back Vivo to eat LOL

OHOH ONE LAST THING!! There's this Easter Egg Hunt from now till 5th April which is quite cool and we took a few pictures with a few of the eggs we saw! ;))

cute squirrel!!!
I think the lady v funny

Sushi Tei

Hungry and fickle minded people decided to eat at Sushi Tei (first time there!!) but clearly we could not afford the overpriced sushi so we just got a bowl of rice each!! Got the Negitoro Don (tuna + raw egg + rice + veggie) which was really really interesting and cheap for the price LOL. And it doesn't feel as sinful cause japanese food's quite healthy actually (minus tempura but whatever)

Yv's beef!

Negitoro Don--$10.90++ (I think)

Filled our bellies with yummy food before going on a dessert hunt -- Rive Gauche and Tai Partait and hobo-ed at Vivo rooftop.

Tai-Parfait has a 20% disc promotion for students! :>:>

Banana flavour with soft serve ice-cream

Rive Gauche has really really good omelette (actually it's a banana crepe with cream), and Crunchy Cheese Crumbs. Best to share them though cause I'll defo get gelat from eating all the cheese HAHAAH. But still so so so so so so so GOOOOOD.

omelette crepe (doesn't look good but it is!) -- $3

Crunchy Cheese Crumbs -- $6

TimeZone was basically one of my childhood memories and I don't go there anymore cause of inflation and it's around $2 for each game which is totally not worth it?!?! Remember the times when each game was $1??? It's LONGGGG gone now. But there's bumper cars in TimeZone!! Really really cool but $6 per person per ride for a small area; no thanks.

Had such a fun day with Yv at Harbourfront but we'll defo be back for Part 2 of The Southern Ridges cause we haven't finished the whole area yet ;)))

cute poodle's fur-cut

Hope youall had a wonderful day!! :>

Luv, Olliee
