Finally back to write a short post on my recently dyed hair. I went to Penang to dye this at True Hair Salon for about 180-200RM, and I'm really happy about the results :> So I'll just talk abit about my experience dying a new colour!
I had ombre brown hair before, and I decided to change it to another interesting colour, since I can chop off my hair anytime I want LOL. Initially, I wanted blue ombre, but since the salon doesn't have blue, I made do with purple :>
It took me a total of 10h (7h+3h) in the salon and my butt hurt like crazy sitting on the chair for so long :< So it's best to bring a book along cause you can't possibly use the phone for 7h straight (maybe you can HAHA)
ANYWAY, this was the end result!
Rly rly rly loved the purple :>
Sitting for >7h straight was TIRING. but I guess it was well worth it :>
Pre-dye!
After 1st bleach
After 3rd bleach!
Was rly hungry cause I hadn't had food since 9am (it was alr 4pm) so my mom went to buy Mcnuggets for me :> tehee didn't wanna eat unhealthy food but wtv la hungry > everything else.
I also finished the book below, as you can see; it's "Mummy told me not to tell" by Cathy Glass. It's a really good read :> The story was really touching as to how Cathy (under a pseudonym) talked about her experience as a foster carer and took care of Reece, a 7 year old boy who experienced abuse at home. She totally changed the life of Reece and his attitude towards everything around him, and changed his view of what is 'normal' in society. At the end of the book, I teared but since I was at the salon and it's weird to cry so I had to stop my tears HAHAH.
Since I dyed my hair before (brown), they had to dye it back to black if not it'll be rly weird HAHA.
This was the end product after another 3h on another day :> Previously, the colour was greyish-blue and it actually looked black from far so I went back to the salon to dye. They were really nice about it and even offered to dye my hair again for free :>
So I bleached again and changed it to purple!
HAHAHAH and she was rly rly rly nice to curl my hair and even braided my fringe :> awwww <3 She's a rly sweet hairdresser :>
My experience there was amazing (albeit having chronic butt pain HAHA) but it's a process I need to go through so it's ok!
update: purple rly fades quickly now its a rly dull purple HAHAH and it's turning brown again! :<
Dk if can see anot but ya the colour is duller alr!!
Thinking of redying another colour, or maybe keep it purple first!! :> But that's gonna be for another time!!
It's finally the finals season in uni, where everyone just chiong study all day err day. Even I have to mug like siao, and getting into the zone is TOUGH. BUT whenever I get into the zone I'm really productive (+antisocial +looks dao) BUT I get to study alot alot alot. And it goes on for HOURS. And I can't eat cause I'll get food coma LOL.
But these are some of tips and things I do when I'm seriously set on studying:
1. Plan out what needs to be studied on the day
VVVVVVV IMPT!!!! If you don't know what to study, it'll be really 'jerky' cause you'll need to think about what to study everytime you finish something which is annoying and disruptive :< And you need to strategically study since your exams would prolly stagger.
2. Phones aside
Really damn impt too!! As my phone is constantly on 'Do Not Disturb' mode (to save battery), I won't be able to receive notifs when I receive messages. Unless I get calls. Personally, I would think that calls are more impt than messages so anything important? CALL.
3. Light healthy snacks, don't overeat
Light snacks are my BAeeEEEe. Because I won't really eat my main meals when I'm studying, it's always handy to have some snacks on hand. Cereal, granola bars, candy etc will definitely be in my bag. Don't get chips cause you'll prolly get addicted and you'll definitely digress :< OH and get coffee!!!
4. Study with friends!
Actually it doesnt really matter whether I study with friends or not, since being in the zone means being in the zone, but whenever I'm with friends, I feel more motivated to study :> Like, since everyone's studying, I have no reason to slack off! And if I happen to stumble onto any question or concept I don't understand, it'll be really easy to ask for help :> Thanks guys <3
5. Find out the format of the papers
It's overlooked by many but one of the most important information of all-- knowing the format of the papers. This helps you to be more prepared for the exams and you won't get a shock when you get the paper :> (it happened to me before LOL)
6. SLEEP
Sleep is REALLY REALLY IMPT. It lets you become more concentrated, and the information would be absorbed much faster if you're awake and energised, AND you won't really need to reread as much :> It also helps to retain and process information you just studied so that there wouldn't be information overload, and you won't forget stuff you studied previously :> When you're studying and if you feel really tired suddenly, just go and get a 15-20 min quick nap to revitalize yourself. I find that a 15-20 min nap makes me more awake and able to study better.
7. Relax and DON'T GIVE UP!
YOU CAN DO IT ! <3 I have faith in you :>
It's been a really really long time since I've went to the cinemas to watch a movie as I was really busy, so I finally set aside time and got down to it. Our Times has been one of the hottest movie topics among everyone, so it kinda sparked my interest. Especially the movie's theme song. Everyone's CRAZY about it, my friends at least. I refused to listen to it till my friend just played it in my room and made me listen to it, which I instantly fell in love with. I FINALLY UNDERSTOOD WHY PEOPLE LOVE THIS SONG.
Anyway, it went on replay for a few days while I was studying, and on Friday, some of us decided to watch it. (finally)
We couldn't make it to vivo in time, so we went to The Cathay to watch the movie at 4.20pm. Personally, when I saw the movie poster, I wouldn't have thought of watching it ._.
Really, who would watch this
And I haven't actually watched the trailer, so whatever I knew about the movie, was just shown in the MTV. BUT it's kinda like a spoiler so I knew the gist of the story, but I refused to confirm it with anyone till I watched the show.
Review
It's a really really great Taiwan romcom <3 The leads are really cool/pretty and although the plot is quite cliche, there are really many unexpected parts. ITS SO CUTE. Especially the romantic parts. :'> This made me cry at a few parts, especially at the end. When you realised everything the guy did :'''') AWWWWW. But anyway, shall not spoil it JIC you guys haven't watched the movie :P
There were times when I raged, times when it was hilarious (alot of it), times when everything was so romantic, and times that was so sad I cried :'<
Even so, although it's a really great movie on it's own, but I think my expectations were too high before I watched the movie, cause everyone was saying how great it was, I expected more. I used 'The Apple of my Eye' to compare with this movie, since it's quite similar. Personally, The Apple of my Eye was a much better movie. But both movies are equally sweet <3
Rating: 3.5/5
Regardless, it's a movie worth watching, for both schoolday feelz and loads of sweetness and romance <3 AND you definitely MUST listen to the theme song, 'A Little Happiness' AKA '小幸福' I've added the link so it's easier to listen to it :>
Oh and during the trailers I saw that The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 is coming out!!! OMG EXCITEDDDD.
Anyway, have a great day ahead! :>
(The theme song is still constantly on replay in my com ._.)
Life's been really hectic for the past few weeks and I reached the point where I've started to sleep alot more. I didn't have enough sleep in hall since I usually sleep at 3am+ and wake up at 8am to study. Nevertheless, I'm really excited that I have finally had my virgin experience to Halloween Horror Nights in USS with my D Blockers :>
The queue for entry was realllllyyyy long although the gates were not even open yet. Because there were too many people, we couldn't even find the queue cause it was just one big chunk of people. There were many stuff being sold there, like lighted headbands etc. The colours were really pretty!! Didn't get a headband though cause it was quite expensive ->2 for $5 :(
D block!!!!
So after entering, everyone just had to wait for the opening show which was DAMN GOOD. And exciting. But we couldn't really hear what the guy was shouting cause it was too muffled LOL.
"THEY ARE HEREEEEEE"
After the show ended, all of us just ran to Waterworld, which was THE MRT. Although we ran, the queue was still damn long and we queued for around 1h+. But since the queue was moving, it didn't felt that long :>
THE MRT
The MRT was seriously DAMN GOOD. But at the start, cause I didn't know what to expect, I got a little nervous before going in but there were people who were more scared than me so all's well ^^ The acting and the makeup was REALLY LEGIT and damn coooollll, and the place really looked like the MRT. HAHA. There were jump scares from the scarers and ofc I chua tio but cause there were so many people, it wasn't as scary at all :> Would definitely have gone again but the queue was too long. :<
We wanted to go to Hell House after but the waiting time was 160 min ?!?!?!?! omg seriously. And we didn't wanna waste time queueing so we just carried on to the next haunted house.
BUT we saw The Accelerator with a waiting time of 5min ;> tehhee. so we all just went for that ride and be like KIDS. HAHAHAH
Got tired from trying to turn the seats around so we gave up after LOL.
Looks legit manz look at dat laziness HAHAHAHAH but ya this drew alot of attention cause he was just lying there like a dead corpse. But my friend went to disturb him so he jumped up and guailan him HAHAHAHAH.
TUNNEL
Went to The Tunnel next cause the waiting time seemed alot shorter so we just went into the queue. This wasn't really well known by everyone cause The HDB and The MRT were the ones that left the most impression on people HAHA. Anyway, the queue was quite fast again, prolly around 1h+ (1h is considered fast alr when you're with fun people :>)
Got Blueberry flavoured Jello Shots along the way cause it looked damn cool, and it actually tasted quite good!!!! ;> Personally, the Tunnel haunted house was really not as scary but it was really really dark so there was a point where I couldn't see anything cause it was pitch black. But ok la I flinched a few times cause of the jump scares HAHA.
THE HDB
FINALLY the HDB. Everyone all wanted to see the HDB cause the reviews were really good. Same queue timings (1h+) but it was all worth it :>
The concept was really interesting with zombies in HDB cause of some disease or something, similar to Resident Evil HAHAHA. And personally it was the most legit out of all. It was also air-conditioned which made it even better and when we walked past the 'rubbish dump', it really smelled baddddd. :<
After that, since we still had time, we went to queue for the Battlestar Galactica (Ailens). But the queue was DAMN LONG. Like, 2h??? OMG cause there were so many disruptions and we had to wait for really long which made me so sad and tired :( But the queue was worth it too cause THE THRILL WAS AMAZING (no matter how many times I've sat inside it)
This guy suddenly jumped in front of us while walking so HIIIII.
Overall HHN was AMAZEBALLZ <3 And everyone made it so so so awesome :> Maybe next year I'll consider trying out to be a scarer HAHAHAH cause it'll be actually quite interesting to scare your friends ;>
So recently it was my very first recess week in NUS which we are supposed to use this time to prepare for our mid-terms, but since I was in a dire need of a short getaway, Theresa and I decided to go on a day trip to JB.
Initially our plan was to go Bali for a 2D1N trip (or a beach), but due to the current haze situation in Singapore and my trainings and practices, we settle on just going to JB. The truth is, this the first time I actually went overseas with my friends for leisure so I was exceptionally excited about it.
AAAANYWAY, we decided to meet at Woodlands MRT at 10am, and actually, the trip from NUS to Woodlands is ~1h, so I guess it wasn't as bad. Both of us got there early cause we over-estimated the time, but since it was a Wednesday morning, there wasn't as many people going into JB as I expected. I exchanged 100SGD for 300 RM which I felt was more than enough for me.
We took bus 950 from the interchange to Woodlands Checkpoint and I was really amazed that the bus actually goes into JB :O (ok I'm really really suaku cause I don't actually go JB even though it's just right beside Singapore) It was basically a speedy entrance since the queues weren't very long. Since we had 2 shopping malls that we wanted to go, we took a bus to KSL first.
There'll be this uncle who would shout "KSL!! KSL!!" really loudly so I think it'll be easy to spot the bus. The bus fare was 1.50RM per person and you'll basically get a bus ticket upon boarding. The bus ride takes about 15-20min so we just chilled and talked on the bus ride there.
Sushi King
We arrived at KSL at about 11am and it's actually still too early (most of the shops were still not open yet). But since we were quite hungry, we went to get sushi from Sushi King. The exchange rate was about 1SGD~3RM so the sushi there were really cheap. Plus, since it was still early, there was practically no one and most of the sushi was not out yet, so we could get freshly made sushi! x) The max price for a plate on the conveyor belt is around 6RM+, so we basically took the sushi like it's a buffet. LEGIT SHIOK SIA. IMO the rice is not pressed tightly enough together so the rice would fall out easily whenever I eat the nigiri sushi. Even so, it was a cheap fix for sashimi cravings so I won't complain u_u
SASHIMIIII
TEMPURAAA
KSL is actually quite confusing for first time goers. The layout is quite complicated as there were a number of escalators there and we got really confused as to where the shops were at. TBH, the clothes there were cheap only if you convert them so SGD. On average, the clothes were about +-49.90RM which was still <20SGD.
The clothes there were somewhat similar to Bugis Street fashion, but they were still considered relatively cheaper after conversion.
After shopping and strolling around KSL, we decided to go for a shoulder and feet massage.
The massage therapist was really good and he really used force when helping me to massage. Actually, it was my 2nd time going for a legit massage (the first one was in Hap Chai, Thailand) and I felt really relaxed. But massaging was actually painful and I cringed the whole way LOL. Theresa was just laughing at me ._. HAHA.
Went for cream puff right after which was so so so good and cheap ;) but matcha flavour wasn't really that good imo :(
CHEAPPP
City Square
We decided to head to City Square after wandering for a little longer in KSL since it was already 4pm+. This one is the RELATIVELY newer shopping mall right beside the Causeway so it's really convenient to go back to Singapore after shopping there. The mall was quite crowded with many shops there. Actually, most of the shops could be found in Singapore, but some of the items there were a little cheaper than in Singapore. But usually for convenience sake I wouldn't bother going all the way to JB just to buy stuff which can be found in Singapore.
Crepe!!!
Got crepe from the stall that we saw first cause it looked really good!!! And it actually was ^^ it was around 6.50 RM each :)
Got Hazelnut banana chocolate crepe
It was mid-autumn festival season so everything was just mooncakes and mooncakes and mooncakes. And there were many shops which could actually be found in SG LOL. Oh but the HnM in JB is cheaper than in Singapore! (At least for certain clothes) HAHA. But didn't manage to get anything cause HnM isn't really my thing ._.
got this reallllly good matcha ice cream!!! <3
Went back to Singapore after that! :)
REALLY REALLY HAPPY TO BE ABLE TO GO OVERSEAS WITH THERESA <3
Oh so some things to take note in JB:
1. Don't bring so much stuff :)
It'll prolly be a burden and you'll just end up suffering
2. Bring enough money
Decide on how much you want to spend and bring that amount. For me, 300RM was actually not enough if I really wanted to buy clothes. So bring wisely! ;)
3. Don't get pressurised into doing something
When we were searching for the massage parlour the people there were really 'onz' and very pressurizing, when we still didn't know which one was the one we wanted to go. But don't get influenced and take your time :)
4. Don't show your money in public
AIYA life skills: just don't anyhow flash your money in public. You'll prolly be the target for robbers/thieves (it's actually the same for everywhere lol.)
5. Just enjoy yourself!!!!
Don't get caught up with the exchange rate if you're just there to relax and enjoy k :)
UPDATE: anywayyyyy, I've finally finished my short vid :> REALLLLLY short but do enjoy :>
Have a great day ahead!<3
YAY ok lemme just enjoy the few more minutes of my birthday <3 HAHAHH
My mom made this!! <3
Spent my birthday a little unusually this year, with the start being ahem ahem LOL. Last night MY and Theresa came to my hall to drink and they really surprised me with a cake!!! :>
I really got damn shocked cause I didn't expect them to get a cake for me <3 Love you guys :') I was really really really touched!!!!
Then yupz Dong and Leumas came by before going together ^^
Anyway, I met up with BBB at vivo to eat lunch at Marche. And Dong was just quite fail at making the non-surprise a surprise and she was desperately trying to save what's left of the surprise LOL. HAHAHA. Last year for my birthday we also went for Marche, but this year's a little different, cause we are missing 2 of our BBBs :( Ass and Nhu are overseas studying now which makes me feel so empty, like there's something missing even when we were together. But I really really really missed hanging out with all of them, and catching up with BBB. Guys I rly missed uall <3
And we just did really random life updates which were stupid but hilarious HAHA. And just chatted about about all our worries, troubles, basically just life. I felt so comfortable talking to them and actually their existence and them being there for lunch with me was already a really really really great birthday present <3
(Marche was really good omg AHHAHA)
ALI STOP POKING ME
Actually they gave me a OBEY shirt which was actually quite funny AHAHA I would never wear it actually but ok la I will wear it for y'all k since y'all bought this for me <3 HAHHAHAH.
Went home after to have dinner with my family, and when I reached home my mom was making a birthday cake for me <3 OMG I was really really really touched cause we kinda quarreled before that which made me feel really shitty about going home but she still made me a cake :')
Ordered Pizza Hut for dinner in the end cause my brother refused to go out to eat dinner, but at least we got to eat the new cheesy pizza which was INSANELY DELICIOUS. OMG I really loved it. And the truth is actually my dad forgot about my birthday also LOL.
Initially he wasn't coming home to eat dinner, but I think my mom called him again to ask him to come home to eat LOL. And my dad just went "why you never tell me today your birthday"
...
HAHHA I got nothing to say but aiya I don't really care about that la lol.
OK anyway just chilled at home watching movies and falling asleep.
AND THEN
Janey Waney chat started coming up. IDK but I felt a sense of familiarity just talking to them on the group and spamming and reliving JC days when our group chat can actually be spammed so so so so so much <3 And we were even searching for photos from our JC days and actually we all changed, regardless big or small, the change is still there. And because we are all in different schools (except for me and Lars but Lars med forever busy :( ), naturally we would have drifted away and distanced. But whenever we come together to start talking, it just felt like we didn't stop talking, just that we are really outdated about each other's lives so we NEED some catching up to do.
Janey Waney!! <3
Really, I feel so blessed to have all of these real and genuine friends in my life, where we just say what we feel and not try and hide anything. Being able to just be myself and talk to them is really really relaxing, like how we can talk about anything under the sun <3 Uni life may have taken up most of our time, but it hasn't taken a toll on our relationship. I won't say what my wish was when I blew the candle, but I really hope that it's one that will come true :>
OH and thanks for everyone who wished me throughout the day <3 I was really really touched by all the messages!
I think it's the effort and thought that counts and I'm really so grateful meeting each and everyone of y'all <3
And I got to talk to people I haven't talked to for a very very very very long time, which I really missed and I wished I had more time to meet up with everyone :> I've learnt to cherish everything that I have and all of you are my favorite gifts :>
